3 day seminar on literary, performing arts inaugurated

Jammu, Dec 2: Three day seminar by samooh Theatre on literary, performing arts and cultural festivals on the regional languages was inaugurated today, Member Legislative Assembly was the chief guest on this occassion, Ashwani Sharma while Prof. Ved Ghai Former Head of Sanskrit Department and prominent social and culture activist presided over.
N D Jamwal pioneer Dogri writer, Sahitya and Sangeet Natak Akademi presened a detailed key note on the subject matter and put light on the present position and contribution and achievements of the regional languages in term of literary and performing arts.
Prof. Ved Ghai in her address said that literary works in all the languages is a important aspect of development of any region, state and country indeed, it is also a document of time which records the social, cultural, economic and political scenario of the particular time.
Ashwani Sharma while congratulating to the Samooh Theatre said this kind of activities provide a platform to the local writers, intellectuals and Artists to assamble at one place and mutually think over about the enrichment of the art languages and culture. He termed the literature as criticism and mirror of its time.
In the second session the eminent scholars of the state who presumed their research paper included Mohan Singh 'Duggar di Lok Sanskriti' Javaid Rahi 'Gujjar lok Sanskriti Ch Pradarshan Kalan', Makhan Lal Saraf Kashmiri "Lok Natak 'Ek Jayaza, Prem Nath Shad "Kashmiri Lok Sansriti 'Ek Jayaza' and Dr. Chanchal Bhasin Dogri Lok Nach ,"Jagrana" .
In the third session prominent folk singers of the state recited folk songs with lot of enthusiasm and mesmerized the audience with their scintillating performance. The artists included Bashir Mastana Nirmal Koul, Pallvi Koul, and Tabla and Harmonium accopained by Satish Lalotra and Rakesk Mashi.
Sham Sajan eminet Gazal Maestro presided over the session in his address he congratulated the artists for their mesmerizing performance in the who recited their folk and sufi sons in varios languages of the Jammu and Kashmir state.
Earlier, Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, while Welcoming the worthy guest he gave the detailed introduction of the mega event said this is the first kind of event going to be organized by the group and expressed hope that will also be concluded in a uniqe wayand would leave long lasting expression on the literary and cultural fraternity . while vote of Thanks presented by Janak Khajuria a renowned theatre practitioner of the state.
The function was attended by artists, intellectuals, writers and theatre activists besides large members of civil society.
