| BDO'S attachment hampers development in Srigufwara | | |

Anantnag, Dec 2 : The attachment of Srigufwara BDO has brought developmental activity to a halt in the block. This is what the locals believe.
The BDO was attached a few months ago when a team from civil secretariat visited the block and found the official absent. The Assistant Commissioner Anantnag too charge of the block. However, the locals believe that the attachment has hampered the developmental works.
People actively participating in the developmental programs especially attached with centrally sponsored scheme MGNERAGA are disappointed with the administration as the office of block Srigufwara has gone virtually dysfunctional.
"Block Office has stopped its development activities from last 7 months no work has been done. Even submitted proposals have been ignored, said Aijaz Ahmad, adding every day we visit this office but the officer remains absent and every time we are told he is in DC Office Anantnag.
Another visitor, Muhammad Ashraf said, "This is last month of 2012 and yet phase second of all developmental works has not been taken up by the department, so you can imagine the pace of work inside the department." He said same is the case with other areas and alleged on the department that they only concerned about making bills.
"Come with me i will give you hundred evidences, last year same block office made bill of a huge amount and withdrawn the amount on the name of harvest water storage plant that was actually constructed by soil conservation department and both the departments minted the money." Ashraf said.
However locals said that the department has now started to issue the estimates submitted months ago. They are trying to motivate people for starting works. "Issuing estimates and starting developmental programs in last days of the year seems a big fraud and indicates that the department is going to mint money." Locals told this reporter out Jamai Masjid Srigufwara.
When contacted Assistant Commissioner Anantnag said, "i am bothered with what the people are saying.
"Plenty of works has been done", he said. When asked, why didn't department took the second phase of works including Parray Pora Masjid Band his answer was Karay Gay Karay GAY (we will do, we will do) and dropped the line. |
