CRPF, AP beat opponents with big margins

JAMMU, Dec 9: Scoring highest goal in a match, Andhra Pradesh today registered a big 21-01 win against Railway Protection Force (RPF) to consolidate their position in the league round of the 61st All India Police Hockey Championship underway at K K Hakhu Stadium, here today.
Sandeep Raju remained top scorer with 10 runs to his credit while Krishna Kishore scored nine. N Kishore and Suresh added one goal each from winners CRPF.
In another scheduled match, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) blanked Chandigarh 11-0. CRPF played a very tactful game and kept the opponent busy in long passes. They CRPF) attacked the opponent goal post only when there was scope to sneak into the striking area. Most of the time, especially in the second half of the play, the ball remained in the possession of CRPF.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu, Manipur, Uttarkhand and West Bengal won the low scoring games played today. While Tamil Nadu beat Indian Tibet Border Police (ITBP) by two goals to one, Manipur overpowered Madhya Pradesh 4-2. Similarly, Uttrakhand downed Odisha by six goals to two and West Bengal made it a 2-1 victory over Jharkhand.
A host of senior police officers, including organizing secretary, Additional Director General of Police, K Rajender Kumar witnessed today league matches.
Today's matches were officiated by the penal of experts including Virender Kumar, Vijay Kishore, Jagjit Singh Reen, Imtiaz-ud-Din, VP Sharma, Tabrez Sher, Anil Kumar, Naveed Zia, Mohd Ameen and Sanjay Bhatia.
FIXTURE: Puducherry V/s Chattisgarh at 7.30 am; Rajasthan V/s Bihar 9 am; Maharashtra V/s Madhya Pradesh 10.30 am; SSB V/s Manipur 12 noon; Haryana V/s ITBP at 1.30 pm; J&K V/s Uttrakhand at 3 pm.
