| Kichloo not functioning as NC spokesperson | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 9: National Conference appointed Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo its provincial spokesperson for Jammu province but he hardly stays in Jammu and functions as a spokesperson. Kichloo has never given a statement as the NC spokesperson and doesn't play his role which party has assigned to him few months back. He remains in his Assembly constituency for most of the time and visits party office in Jammu only when he has some other work in the secretariat. On Saturday when the NC working committee meeting was held, Kichloo skipped the meet and didn't visit Jammu. Though his party maintained that he had prior appointment in his constituency but sources said that all is not well between Kichloo and party leadership. Sources said that Kichloo was waiting for cabinet berth in Omar Abdullah's cabinet but he was not entertained and was given the post of party spokesperson which he never wanted. Whenever he is contacted to get any comment on any issue, Kichloo either doesn't receive call or puts his phone on switch off mode to avoid calls. So far no representation has been given to legislators from erstwhile district Doda from where Congress has five MLAs and NC has one. Kichloo had been pushing for long to get into cabinet but being the valley dominated party, NC didn't gave him chance to get in. On Saturday when he was called to get the detail about working committee meet, his phone was on switch off mode. Now, the NC provincial president for Jammu province Rattan Lal Gupta himself works as party spokesperson and puts his close associate in doing the job of making press releases and sending invitation to media persons. Unlike the valley's unit of party, where all press releases have the sign of party spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, same from Jammu office never has signatory authority of party spokesperson. The press release from Jammu office of party is released on behalf of NC media cell. Despite many attempts made to contact Sajjad Kichloo, he was not available for comments. Even the party leaders are hesitant to talk on the issue. Meanwhile, during the working committee meeting, party leadership decided to constitute a committee who will analyse the results of recently held legislative council elections which was swept away by NC led coalition government and didn't allow opposition to show their presence.
