samba, Dec 9: Vijaypur Cricket Club won the inaugural match of General Baj Singh Memorial Twent20 Tournament which got underway at Barori, Vijaypur in district Samba today. In the opening match, Vijaypur trounced Invincible Cricket Club (ICC) by a comfortable margin of 77 runs. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Vijaypur Club set a target of 189 runs for seven, which, in reply, ICC could not chase and bowled out for 111 runs in 17 overs. Abdul and Sunny were top scorers with 34 runs each while Panku contributed unbeaten 20 runs. From ICC, Avtar Singh took two wickets. Later, ICC could not face the calculated bowling from Vijaypur Club and lost all their wickets for 111 runs in 17 overs. Chand Deep Singh and Simran were top scorers with 21 and 20 runs respectively. From Vijaypur, Vishal emerged as most successful bowler with three wickets while Panku took two. For his all round performance, Panku was declared man of the match. Dineshwar Singh and Vicky Bogal were umpires while Rohit Jamwal was scorer in today's match. Earlier, the tournament was declared open by Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), Mohd Aslam Goni. He was accompanied by Sarpanch, Jagdish Singh and Prahlad Singh. |
