| Players allege malpractice by Chess association | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 9: Chess players of the state hailing from Leh have criticized the state sports council and the chess association for playing with the careers of the young and budding players due to their infighting they rued that parallel chess associations of the state have been creating confusion in the minds of the young chess players by publishing conflicting releases. They further blamed that some tournaments are organized in the State with huge entry fees which is in thousands and with announcement of huge prize money in lakhs but when prizes are distributed they are merely in thousands which is less than even the entry fees to such tournaments which is like promotion to gambling instead of true sports especially in the Game of chess. They further said that If Sports Council claim that they are working for the welfare of Sports in the Sate then why the Associations are charging huge money from players in one way or other. They also requested the thorough enquiry in the matter. |
