Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 9: Pilgrimage to the world famous Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Shrine situated in Trikuta Hills of mountainous Reasi district is all set to create a new record as the yatra has crossed the figure of one crore for second consecutive year, official sources here today said. "The pilgrimage to the cave shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi yesterday reached 1 crore and is all set to break previous year's record of 1.02 crore," official sources here told. They said that with 23 days left in the current year and the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) authorities were expecting the pilgrimage this year to be around 1.05 crore. "At present 10,000 to 15,000 pilgrims were visiting the cave shrine daily but the number was expected to go up significantly after December 20 ahead of Christmas and New Year with vacations across the country," they added. |
