Udhampur, Dec 9 : While hailing the state government for sanctioning Rs 50000 relief in favour of those persons killed in a recent road accident, J&K PYC General Secretary R S Pathania today appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to sanction further Rs 5 lakh as ex-gratia relief for the dead and Rs. 2 lakh for critically injured passengers. After a visit to the houses of the victim families at Basantgarh he wondered as to how accident victims from Ramban, Batote and other parts of the state were treated with different parameters "where Chief Minister had announced hefty amounts of relief out of his discretionary C M Relief Fund in the past." He sought a detailed fact-finding inquiry into the reasons behind the tragic bus-accident at Parla Dudu, in which 21 people died and sixty others were injured.
