| 5 killed, 3 injured in Doda road accident | | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Kishtwar, Dec 11: At least five persons were killed while three others were injured, two of them seriously, in a road accident near Suighawari on Kishtwar-Jammu National Highway Tuesday morning. Reports said a Tavera vehicle (No: JK14A-9945) on way from Chirala village of Thatri met with an accident near Suighawari at around 11.30 this morning. Eyewitnesses said the driver lost control over speedy vehicle as a result of which it plunged into 150 meter deep gorge and was broken into pieces before it landed on the banks of river Chenab. Three people died on the spot while two others died on way to hospital. The other two injured are undergoing treatment at District Hospital Doda. As soon as the news of the accident reached Doda, police and civil administration officials rushed to the spot and started rescue and relief operation. Reports said army was first to reach the spot and start rescue operation. The deceased have been identified as Rumesh Kumar son of Thakur Lal of Bejarni Doda, Abdul Kareem Malik son of Abdul Gani (Forest Guard SFC) of Thelala Doda, Fareed Ganie son of Zaffar Ganie of Bhaja Chirala and Rajesh Kumar son of Hari Chand of Udrana Badherwah. The identity of the other deceased person couldn't be established. The injured have been identified as Vijay Kumar son of Lehar Singh of Chiralla Doda, Momin Khan son of Mohammed Iqbal of Green Colony Bhaderwah, Yasir son of Ghulam Qadir Khan of Chiralla Doda and Parveen Kumar son of Bansi Lal of Thelala Doda. |
