| An accident despite precautions : MD JKPCC | | 'Old building would be renovated, strengthened …' | | early times report Jammu, Dec 11: The MD of JKPCC MM Gupta terming this incident as unfortunate , however, claimed that the agency took utmost care to protect the building. "We were in the process of constructing the protection wall ….it is the work being carried very closely, almost next to wall of the existing building …….we could not get enough time to fill up the soil and unfortunately the structures caved in despite our precautions…", Gupta said adding with a sense of regret, "It is an accident ……we could not help prevent it". Reacting to allegations of negligence, the MD while speaking to ET said they had not completely ruled out risk to old structure . We said there is some risk but at the same time we also said we would be able to overcome it…..The MD of the prestigious government agency asserted that the damaged and collapsed structures would be retrieved and renovated and entire building would be strengthened. "It was already in the project plan but that was to be done after completion of new complex……we are now considering the options as per priorities fixed by the government.
