| GCW Gandhi Nagar observes World HR day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 11: Literary Club of Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar under the aegis of Centre for Peace Education organized World Human Rights (HR) Day by holding an interactive session to commemorate the 64th Anniversary of adoption of universal declaration of Human Rights by United Nations on December 10, 1948. On this occasion, Dr. Kiran Bakshi, Principal of the College was the Chief Guest. The programme began with a key note address by Prof. Neelu Gupta, Convener of the Literary Club in which she highlighted the need of celebrating this day as a mark of tribute to provide respect to humanity and kindness to all the beings. Dr. Kiran Bakshi in her address exhorted the need of knowing the constitutional safe guards of human rights by every student of the college which guarantee dignity and honour to all the human beings residing on the earth. This would bring a cultural harmony, remove racial and class disparity and dispel the misunderstanding and bias from the human mind across the globe. Around 20 students of the College deliberated on this issue and put forth their views on the violations that were taking place in the different parts of the world. They laid special emphasis on the reduction of child labour at least in the educational institution. Prof. Ashaq Malik, Coordinator of the Peace Education also shared his views and gave a message that peace education would only minimize the violations and sufferings of the entire human race. |
