Jammu, Dec 11: State Home Department cleared much awaited promotions of police officers of various ranks including ADGs and IGPs, sources said.
As per sources, 4 IGsP have given green signal for the rank of ADGs, 5 DIGs have been promoted to the rank of IGPs while as 8 SSPs have been promoted to the rank of DIG in a departmental promotion committee held today.
The four IGPs, who have been cleared for the rank of ADGs include namely Dilbag Singh, VK Singh, Sheikh Owais and SM Sahai.
The 5 DIGs who reach to the rank of IGP included T Phunchuk, Rajesh Yadav, Satish Khandarya, Shiv Dev Singh and T Namgyal.
Namgyal has been offered promotion on performa basis, sources underlined.
Sources further said that though 11 SSPs who are on seniority list for promotion but due to limited vacancies of DIG, only eight reportedly have been given promotions few of them included Anand Jain, Samuel Varghese, Ashkoor Wani, Manmohan Singh, J L Sharma, Israr Khan, Vijay Sambyal and Nisar Ahmed.
Sources said that their adjustments shall be made in a cabinet meet likely to be held shortly.
