Jammu, Dec 11: The Jammu Kashmir Gujjar Bakerwal Conference (JKGBC) has assailed the State Government for its apathy and discriminatory attitude towards the Gujjar and Bakerwals. In its Executive Body's monthly meeting held at its Head Office Sunjwan Road, Jammu under the Chairmanship of its President Haji Mohd Yaqoo, the JKGBC reiterated its demands of political reservation to Gujjars and Bakerwals besides demanding permanent settlement of the nomadic Gujjars and Bakerwals. In the meeting Ch. Chirag Din, Dr. Gafoor Ahmed, Ch. Noor Ahmad Noor, Ch Amir -ud-Din Kasana, and Advocate Anwar Chodhary asked the community to unite for the struggling and achieve the goal including political reservation and other long pending demands. The speakers also demand to the state govt. to clear the stand about the reservation in Block Development Council Elections for Gujjars and Bakerwals of the state. The speakers in the meeting were unanimous to strengthen the organization in every hook and corner of the state and also make rapport with the gujjars of the other states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Haryana and U.P. |
