KATHUA, Dec 24: Sunderbani Club today entered into the next round of the ongoing 3rd Police Martyrs' Memorial North Zone Twenty20 Cricket Championship after they defeated Kathua Blues by seven wickets at Sports Stadium, here. Batting first, after winning the toss, Kathua Blues could make 61 runs losing all their wickets. In reply, the visiting side of Sunderbani Club chased the total for the loss of three wickets. Sunil Dogra of Sunderbani Club was declared man of the match for his five-wicket haul. He was presented the cash prize of Rs 1500 and the trophy by Shaheed Welfare Committee. Meanwhile, in another scheduled match of the day, Sports Club Amritsar registered a big 59 runs win over Sabi XI Hoshiarpur to sail into the next round of the competition. Earlier, Sports Club Amritsar won the toss and batting first set a target of 167 runs for eight wickets, which, in reply, Sabi XI Hoshiarpur could not chase and lost all their wickets for 108 runs. Sharad Lamba of Sports Club Amritsar was adjudged man of the match for his all-round performance of 68 runs and one wicket. He was given away the cash prize of Rs 1500 by Inspector Pardeep Khajuria. |
