| Six day adolescent education programme concludes at MIER | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 24 : A six day Adolescent Education Programme launched by Shanti Gupta Centre for Women Studies, MIER College of Education concluded at MIER. This was the second part of the programme organized with an aim to generate awareness among the adolescents on the various challenges faced by them and how they can prepare themselves to face the complexities of life with more confidence and maturity. The target group of the programme was students of Class IX of Model Academy School. The programme was divided into six modules namely Introduction to Adolescence as a concept, Stages of Adolescence; Training in Assertiveness ; Chance at buying happiness ; Life skills and decision making; Adolescent Health; Stress and its impact. The resource persons for the various modules were Monika Marwaha, Lecturer MIER College of Education; Jasleen Mohial, coordinator Model Academy; Manisha Sharma, Lecturer MIER College of Education, Monika Rathore, Project Officer CWS Rupa Gupta, Principal Model Academy lauded the efforts of the CWS which has taken up this initiative of providing orientation to the adolescents which would go a long way in helping them deal with this delicate phase of their life. She hoped that more such programmes will be conducted by the centre in future also. The entire programme was planned and executed by the Project officer, CWS, Monika Rathore. |
