EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Jan 2 : Super speciality Govt Hospital Sarwal which is yet to start its elite services, under its Urological Setup has added another feather to the cap of Health Department by performing first ever Percuteneous bladder stone removal telescopically. A patient referred from Ramban aged 65 years with large bladder stone measuring around 5x5 cm, was referred to the Urology centre at Sarwal. PCCL(percutaneous cystolithotripsy), which is a key hole surgery to remove large stones through abdomen was performed on the patient and complete stone removal was done in piecemeal. Dr Raja Langer M.S(General Surgery), DNB(Urology) has been specially posted in Government Hospital Sarwal Jammu by Hon'ble Minister for Health Sham Lal Sharma to further improve the services in health sector and to take it to a super specialized level. Medical Superintendent Dr Arun Sharma was present throughout the procedure and congratulated the team of Surgical Theater for performance of this procedure the first of its kind being performed in Health Department. He further informed that urology OPD & surgeries like TURP, TURBT, VIU, Stictures, bladder stones, PCCL ETC is a regular affair in the hospital now and people and public at large should take benefit of urology clinic. The people with kidney, ureter and bladder stones, urine problems because of old age, bladder and prostate cancer, stricture urethra, male infertility, impotence, erectile dysfunctions, and premature ejaculation shall benefit from the urology clinic. The clinic will also benefit female and pediatric urological problems. |
