| OBCs to protest at Marh on January 8 | | | early times report
Marh, Jan 2: A meeting of All J&K OBC Mahasabha Marh Block was held under the chairmanship of Sh.Vakil Chand in which Sh. Kasturi Lal Basotra, President Sain Samaj (Barber/Hajam) community was the Chief Guest and Sh.Bansi Lal Choudhary Convener was the Guest of Honour.
In the meeting Sh. Baalwant Katria, Senior Leader of Vishwkarma Community criticized the state rulers for making discrimination with the J&K Mandal Commission identified OBCs having 35% of the total state population as per the census-1931, but state rulers have provided only 2% Vertical reservation in the state Govt. Services instead of 27% Vertical reservation as per the Verdict-1992 of the Hon,ble Supreme Court of India on Mandal Commi-ssion report 1980.
The participants alleged 23% vertical reservation has been given to artificial Group of Backward Clas-ses under the garb of "BACKWARD AREA" named as RBA & ALC Whereas Mandal commission has identified only 63 castes & communities as Backward for J&K state.The R.B.A & A.L.C is the creation of NC-Congress Govt. only to curb the 27% reservation rights of real OBCs for their petty political interests.
Keeping in view MISSION-2014 the house decided to hold One Day Peaceful Protest in front of Block Development Office Marh Block on 8th January at 10.30 a.m.
