| Acid attack on girl, accused arrested | | | early time report Srinagar, Jan 2: A girl was injured when a youth threw acid on her face in the uptown Srinagar today. The youth has been arrested, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police Central Kashmir, Afad-ul-Mujtaba said. He said the youth threw acid on the girl when she was going for tuition at Parraypora in the uptown on Srinagar-Airport road. The girl who received injuries on her face was admitted to hospital. The DIG said police has taken the cognisance of the incident and the accused Reyaz Ahmad Nath, resident of Lone Mohalla, Chanapora, has been arrested. He said a case has been registered Mr Mujtaba visited the victim at the hospital and assured the family of the victim that police will bring the perpetrator to books justice at the earliest. He ordered that the investigation of the case will be pursued expeditiously.
