EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Jan 6 : ANC on Sunday paid floral tributes to former CM of J&K and founder of ANC, GM Shah on his 4th death anniversary at party headquarter in Gandhi Nagar.Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Gian Singh, provincial president ANC said that Shah throughout his Life, remained affectionately committed to his People, always shared their pain and endeavored to mitigate their sufferings. The Fourth Death Anniversary of the Founder-President of Jammu and Kashmir Awami National Conference and former Chief Minister, Ghulam Muhammad Shah, is being observed throughout the State to pay homage to one of the greatest leaders in the history of J&K ever, he added. Adding further he said that on this occasion, people of the state recall the singular contribution of Mr. Shah who, alongside the towering leader, late Sher-i-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, spared no sacrifice to bring the state out of the morass of subjugation under the ruthless autocratic rule. Although the epitome of honesty. Srinagar Distt, GD Shah said that during his stint in office, Ghulam Muhammad Shah is credited with several epoch-making decisions like regularization of thousands of daily-rated workers; provision of jobs to thousands of unemployed youth; streamlining the administration and making it accountable; launching several power projects for all-round development and to rid the state of its backwardness; setting up of hospitals and educational institutions; launching productive development schemes across the state; and establishment of Nawa-i-Subh complex at Srinagar and Sher-i-Kashmir Bhavan at Jammu. More importantly, Ghulam Muhammad Shah gave the concept of holding intra-Jammu and Kashmir Conferences about Jammu, Srinagar, Ladakh, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit and Baltistan, to pave the way for peaceful and honorable solution of the vexed Kashmir issue. |
