early times report Udhampur, Jan 6: The Youth Congress unit of Ramnagar led by its President, Ved Pal Sharma, has vowed to unfold the vicious politician-contractor nexus in Ramnagar, allegedly fostered by the local MLA. Terming the counter-statement of Panthers Party published in the media in response to allegations, as a bundle of lies, the Youth Congress has pointed out contradictions, indecent and filthy phraseology and blasphemous commentary and challenged the MLA Ramnagar to counter the facts and figures which have been brought to the fore by the unit relying on revelations created by RTI queries. The unit has dared the MLA to come out of hiding and explain why there should not be a Commission of Inquiry against him, his relatives for the crimes with regard to their sudden growth and enrichment?
The Unit has reproduced details made public by MLA Ramnagar while filing nominations for Assembly elections - 2008. The property details include Bank Balance of Rs. 6,69,580 in Jammu & Kashmir Bank, Life Insurance Policy Worth Rs. 5,00,000/-,Land at Village Chowadi, tehsil & district Jammu Khasra No 562 - 2 Kanals 7 Marlas worth - Rs. 2,00,000/-, Village Chowadi, Tehsil Jammu District Jammu Khasra No 566,567&568 - 13 Marlas, 11 Marlas & 2 Kanals 16 Marlas/Worth Rs. 3,00,000/-, spouse's Jewellery 500 gms of Gold Ornaments Valued at Rs. 6,00,000/-, Land belonging to spouse Manju Singh at Channi -Jammu/Khasra No 186 / 12 Marlas worth Rs. 3,00,000/-.
It has been found that there exists incongruence between the details of movable/immovable propertydisclosed by MLA Ramnagar in his election-affidavit, IT returns and periodic returns made public to the Legislative Assembly secretariat, every year. The MLA has failed to account for the very source of these immovable properties. And fact remains that there are other nami/benami properties possessed by him which have not been accounted for by him in his election-affidavit. Furthermore, another criminal case required to be registered against MLA Ramnagar for undervaluing 7 kanals of land at Channi Chowadi as worth Rs. 8.00 lacs and paying lesser court fees thereby evading compulsory stamp duties/court fees. The reply of the MLA fails to stipulate as to where 50-odd crores of money spent in Ramnagar by IWDP (Ramnagar) have gone and as an elected representative of Ramnagar, what efforts he has put in to fish out the fraud out of the cupboard. Or, was he a party to the vicious scandal unfolded by IWDP in Ramnagar?
The reply further fails to make a value-judgement comment on as to how his CDF. Non-plan and additionalites worth Rs. 284.024 lacs have been spent in Ramnagar in full face of codal formalities by his relatives and cronies.
What explanation he has to offer for start of work on Peuni-Tajoor road where Rs. 29.84 lacs have been spent departmentally and work allotted to his blue-eyed contractor and Ex-en PWD (R & B) Udhampur has said in black-and-white vide his letter dt. No: - 9-8 / 3392-94 Dated: - 11-06-2012 in response to an RTI query that, "The work was taken up departmentally under the instructions of then Executive Engineer and was not tendered on the instructions of MLA Ramnagar Harsh Dev Singh".
