early times report
SRINAGAR, Jan 6: After being stared by Pakistan in the face the separatist leaders have no reservations in entering the political process to find an amicable solution to the Kashmir imbroglio within the ambit of Indian Constitution.
According to sources, hectic activities are taking place in the moderate faction of Hurriyat Confer-ence in this regard. Despite visiting Pakistan the moderate Hurriyat faction is not satisfied with the role of Pakistan which has used the Kashmir issue as its juggler vein and exploited the innocent Kashmiris for years together.
Sources said the JKLF supremo Mohammed Yasin Malik who took to arms to wage a war against India in 1989 and advocated for separation of Kashmir from Indian union has in principle agreed to enter into any kind of dialogue with Indian Union in case of some broader understanding is reached on the issue.
Sources said Malik has given up his rigid stand and conveyed to his close aides that the people have suffered a lot in 23 years long turmoil in Kashmir and Pakistan was worst enemy of Kashmiris which played with the cause of people of Valley right from 1947.
Malik, sources said, has also admitted that gun was no solution to the problem and his organization was ready to enter into dialogue with Government of India to find an amicable solution to the issue.
Not only Malik but moderate faction Hurriyat conference chief Moulvi Umar Farooq has also shown his willingness to enter the political process instead of showing reservations to it. Moulvi Umar Farooq has given clear indications to his aides asking them that enough is enough and the Hurriyat can't remain a mute spectator to dance of death and destruction in Kashmir for which Pakistan was mainly responsible.
Sources said Hurriyat chief has not even opposed the idea of joining the electoral process if it helps Kashmiris to mitigate their sufferings.
Given the role of Paksitan which betrayed the common Kashmiris right from 1947 for its own interests, the Hurriyat leadership does not want to make the poor Kashmiris a scapegoat any more, sources added.
Sources said when Hurriyat leader was asked about opposition to their stand by hardliner faction leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Umar Farooq reportedly told them that Geelani has been marginalised and there are no takers for him now.
Sources said one separatist leader and People’s Conference chief Sajjad Gani Lone has already joined the political process and was ready to contest the next Assembly elections. Lone who last time contested the Parliamentary elections from Baramulla, Kupwara Parliamentary Constituency is all set to contest the Assembly elections in 2014.
Sources said Lone is going to fulfill the dream of his late father Abdul Gani Lone who had earlier shown his all willingness to break the ice in Kashmir to by participating in political process and challenge he apostles of doom who had ruined Kashmir by importing gun from Pakistan to wage a war against their own men.
However, Lone could not fulfill his desire as he was gunned down by militants before he could further his plans. However, Sajjad Lone who is a moderate and progressive politician wants to take this process further. Lone is all set to enter into dialogue process with Government of India on his own and he is holding public meetings of his cadres in length and breadth of Kashmir Valley in this regard.
