AJKKU for separate Agriculture Budget

Jammu, Jan 6 : Expressing serious concern over the de to rating condition of farmers due to neglect of farm sector by the successive governments, the All J&K Kissan Union (AJKKU) has demanded separate budget for agriculture allocating funds proportionate to the total number of farmers in the country. At a meeting of the executive committee of AJKKU held here today, the 'organization said that time has come to address the issues confronting the farming community in a more proactive and comprehensive manner, so that the country continues to be self sufficient in ,thy production of food grain and other agriculture produce to meet its eyer growing demands.
Addressing the meeting, the Chairman AJKKU, Ashok Sharma retreated for covering all the farmers under Kissan credit card scheme providing Special Relief Package of Rs. 500/- crore to the farmers of Jammu region to compensate for damaged to their crops suffered due to drought during Rabi and Kharief 2012, timely supply of quality seeds and' fertilizers. He also stressed for most effectively implementing crop and cattle insurance scheme in Jammu and Kashmir, establishment of fruits and vegetables mandies in all the potential areas and discouraging the system of middle men to ensure profitable return to the farmers of their produce.
The meeting decided to carry forward the signature campaign highlighting the demands of the farmers and thereafter these signatures would be presented to the concerned authorities at the centre and in the state.

Raina, Ram Parkash, J.S. baloruia, H.S Balouria, Susheel Jamwal, Vinod Sawhney, Jogesh Kumar, Shakti Kumar, Balwan Kumar, D.S. Jamwal and K.L. Vashishat.
