| National leadership must not fail nation: Bhim Singh | | | early times report Jammu, Jan 17: National Panthers Party (NPP) Chief Patron and noted peace activist Prof Bhim Singh today said that national leadership must not fail the nation and the aspirations of the next generations which look forward for peace, tranquillity, prog-ress and respect for huma-nity as a whole. "Those at the commanding situation must not be carried by the emotional and vote catching slogans of the power hungry politicians. Those who have the mandate of the Consti-tution to act must not speak loose the way politicians do. India is the largest democracy in the world and has the greatest role to play for peaceful co-existence of the conflict-torn nations in spite of over ambitious neighbours aided and abetted by the foreign agencies from the East and the West," Prof Singh said in response to the "unwarranted, undesirable and inadequate" statements issued from different political quarters as well as by the highest echelons of power. He reached the family of Hem Raj who was beheaded by the Pakistan Army. The NPP chief reiterated that government of India should move an appropriate case before the Interna-tional Court of Justice for appropriate remedy including trial of those who had committed this inhuman act. He said that threats of war by the men in power would not solve the issue nor it shall redress the wounds caused on the human dignity. "No words shall wash the bloody hands of the killer and that of those who beheaded a soldier performing his duty," he added. The NPP Chief appealed the people along the LoC particularly in Kargil, Kashmir and Poonch sector to remain calm and exercise patience by strengthening communal harmony "as there is no reason of a war as a section of politicians have been shouting." He said the wars never solved any problem nor the wars or solution to the present conflict vis-à-vis J&K Pakistan must implement Security Council Resolution by "withdrawing its Army and illegal settlers from all occupied territories of J&K including Gilgit, Baltistan, Hunza, Karakoram (which has been sold out by Pakistan to China)." The NPP leader also hoped that peace process between India and Pakistan shall continue in spite of the reverses caused by the vested interest. |
