early times report JAMMU, Jan 17: Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA& PD) and Transport Ch. Mohammad Ramzan have expressed gratitude to the union government for enhancing cap on subsidized cooking gas cylinders from six to nine in the State. While hailing the decision of the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, the Minister has said that the decision will benefit about 16 lakh consumers of the State enabling them to get 5 subsidized cylinders from September last to March 31, 2013. Besides, the consumers will be entitled for 9 subsidized cylinders during the next financial year. Ch. Ramzan said that it was due to strong persuation of the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, that the Union Government has conceded the demand of the state government to raise the cap on subsidized cylinders in Jammu and Kashmir State especially in view of the State's difficult and hilly terrain and long winter months. |
