JAMMU, Jan 17: The five day long Innovation in Scientific Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) Science Internship Camp began today at Rajinder Singh Auditorium, Jammu University. The camp which has been sponsored by Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India was inaugurated with the recitation of Sarawati Vandana. Speaking on the occasion, Prof T.P Singh, Member Scientific Advisory Committee to Chief Minister, J&K State and distinguished Research Professor, AIIMS, Delhi Chief Guest on this occasion said that it is his great pleasure to be part of INSPIRE. In his address, Vice Chancellor, Jammu University Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar said that he was indeed doubly privileged for sharing the stage with Prof T.P Singh as it was because of his motivational lecture thirty years back which drew him to Sciences of development of drugs. Prof P.K Srivastava, Coordinator, INSPIRE in his address gave synoptic details of the programme and also underlined the need to pursue Science as a Career. Prof Srivastav further informed that the Inter School Science quiz competition will also be held on 18th January as part of this Camp and Students during this camp shall be benefited by the lectures by eminent Scientists like Prof N SathyaMurti, Director, IISER, Mohali, Prof Shalabh, IIT, Kanpur, Prof Avinash Khare, DU, Prof V Sri Nivas, TIFR, Mumbai and Prof A.S Brar, Vice-Chancellor, GNDU, Amritsar. |
