RAJOURI, Jan 17: A team of officers of Legal Metr-ology Department (LMD) Poonch led by Assistant Controller Legal Metrology conducted extensive checking at Bimber Gali, Bhata Durian, Surankote area of Poonch district.
During the inspections, nine traders were booked for violation of different sections of the J&K Weights and Measures (Enf) Act-1997 the team compounded all the cases on spot and an amount of Rs.13500/- was recovered from the defaulters.
Traders were further warned that stern legal action shall be taken in case of indulgence in any anti consumer practices. They were further directed to use correct and verified weight and to sell purchase commodity with clear mentioning of MRP, packing date, weight alongwith complete address of the manufacturer. |
