| Police holds meeting with Sarpanches, Panches in Kalakote | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Rajouri, Jan 17: Continuing its efforts to reach out to the public representatives at grass route level, Rajouri Police today held a meeting with Sarpanches and Panches in Kalakote. During the meeting Police sought the cooperation of Sarpanches and Panches in maintaining law and order, controlling crime and ensuring peace in the area. On this occasion, the Sapranches and Panches of block Kalakote impressed upon the Police to provide a secure environment for the Panches and Sarpan-ches. Speaking on the occasion Danesh Rana DIG of Police Rajouri-Poonch Range and Mubassir Latifi, SP Rajouri assured the public representatives that all out efforts will be made to maintain peace in the area and Police will go to the door steps of the public for providing effective and efficient services. Among prominent present in the meeting included Commander 14 sector Brigadier G S Chahal, CO 63 RR, D D Swain and Tehsildar Kalakote. Earlier Som Raj, Mohd Hussain, Mohd Yaqoob, Mohd Sadiq, Mohd Akhter, Ram Parkash and Bushan Uppal, Sarpanches of Tatapani, Moghla, Som, Dalyote, Treru, Panjah and Teryath respectively participated in the meeting and highlighted various issues including training of VDC members, Scarcity of ration and shortage of Schools in Rural areas. Police highly appreciated the role of these public representatives in highlighting the various issues being faced by the public and also lauded their efforts in maintaining peace in the area. |
