| Two held with 360 pouches of liquor, vehicle seized | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Ramban, Jan 17: Police today foils a bid of liquor smuggling with the arrest of two persons who were carrying 360 pouches of J&K Excise. The duo was nabbed during a naka checking at Jawahar Tunnel, police said.
As per police reports following reliable information that some liquor smuggling is taking place in the area, Police laid a naka on the NHW at Jawahar Tunnel. Naka party intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing Regd No JK03D/7313 which was on its way towards Srinagar, during checking Police recovered 360 pouches of J&K Excise, 250 ml each.
"Police seized liquor pouches along with the vehicle and arrested two accused identified namely as Shabir Ahmed Teli S/o Abdul Salam Teli R/o Dryian Qazigund and 2-Zahid Ali Wagay S/o Abdul Salam R/o Sialo Qazigund. During questioning both of them revealed that they were carrying these liquor pouches towards Kashmir for selling purpose.
On this a Case FIR No14/2013, U/S 48 (A) Excise Act got registered at Police Station Banihal. |
