PCC celebrates Rahul's elevation as party Vice President

JAMMU, Jan 20 : The elevation of Rahul Gandhi as Vice President of All India Congress Committee (AICC) was celebrated in the state today at Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Headquarters at Jammu and Srinagar in which senior leaders of PCC, District Congress Committee and other frontal organizations participated in large numbers.
A colorful function was organized at PCC Headquarter, Shaheedi Chowk here today which was presided over by senior leader and Vice President PCC Gurmukh Singh (Ex-Minister) and attended among others by Thakur Hari Singh-Vice President, Mula Ram-Ex Minister, Ravinder Sharma-MLC, General Secretary and Chief Spokesman of Pradesh Congress Committee, Vinod Sharma and Mehrajuddin Zargar (General Secretaries PCC); Ch. Bashir Ahmed Naaz-Vice Chairperson Gujjar & Bakkerwal Board; Kuldip Raj Verma-Vice Chairman OBC Board; Thakur Shiv Dev Singh-Ex-MLA, Manmohan Singh, SR Sudhir, Pardeep Parihar, Lalita Sharma and Padmani Langeh, besides others. At party headquarter Maulana Azad Road-Srinagar, Kashmir, the function was presided over by Mohammad Anwar Bhat-General Secretary PCC, Minister for R&B Abdul Majid Wani, Amreen Badar-General Secretary PCC, Master Maqbool and other party leaders including Block Congress, District Congress , Youth Congress and Mahila Congress Committees attended the programme. The Congress leaders and workers distributed sweets amidst beating of drums and raising of slogans in favour of Rahul Gandhi, Indian National Congress and AICC President, Sonia Gandhi. Speaking on the occasion, senior party leaders hailed the decision of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) to appoint Rahul Gandhi as Vice President of the party and congratulated the Congress High Command for the decision.
Congratulating Rahul Gandi, the PCC leaders termed it as a historic decision which would infuse new spirit in the Congress party throughout the county as the youth of the country wanted Rahul Gandhi to come forward to lead them in the field of politics.
