| NYC holds meeting, highlights demands of volunteers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Udhampur, Jan 22: National Youth Corps (NYC) Association held its meeting in Jammu under the chairmanship of State president NYC Muddasir Hassan in which various long pending demands pertaining to volunteers were discussed and highlighted. Besides State president NYC Muddasir Hassan among others who addressed the members present in this meeting included General Secretary Aejaz Ahmad Shah and General Accountant Manzoor Ahamed. Addressing the members Muddasir Hassan appreciated the work and conduct of NYCs, who are working from last two years and said that NYCs shall attend their offices continuously and maintain regularity in serving State. Muddasir Hassan and others extended heartfelt condolences to the family members of Kapil Sharma NYC from Poonch District, who expired recently. Agitated over the neglect and discrimination of NYCs, Hassan condemned that callous approach adopted by J&K Govt towards NYCs, and said if Govt will continuously sideline us the cases like kapil Sharma will be routine affair in the state. "We (NYCs) have helped the Govt in every department as supporting staff and the govt had promised us that we will be recruited after some time, said Hassan and added, "but nothing has been done to concede to our demands. Ajaz Ahmed Shah General Secretary said if Govt has recently announced New recruitment Policy for unemployed youth under which 80000 youth will be adjusted, why can't NYCs be given preference for the said posts. Meantime Manzoor Ahmad Magrey of NYC said,if Govt fails to address our grievances then we will start indefinite hunger strike positively in next month at Jantar Mantar Delhi. |
