KATHUA, Jan 22: Semifinals position has been cleared with the entry of host Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua, GDC Akhnoor, GDC Hiranagar and Post Graduate Departments in the last four stages of the inter-college men's volleyball tournament underway here today. Now, in the semifinals, scheduled to be played tomorrow, GDC Kathua shall take on GDC Hiranagar while PG Departments shall be playing against GDC Akhnoor. Earlier, in the quarterfinals, played today, GDC Kathua defeated GGM Science College 2-1 to make it to the last four stages. Likewise, PG Departments downed GDC Samba in straight sets while GDC Akhnoor outplayed GDC Billarwar by similar margin. Prominent among those who witnessed today's quarterfinals were Principal of host GDC Kathua, Dr Netar Singh and District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Sudesh Kumar Chalotra. Today's competition was officiated by the penal of technical officials including Mulkh Raj Sharma, Roshan Sharma, Balwinder Singh Jamwal, Sanjeev Singh, Mohinder Sharma, Madan Lal, Mandeep Singh and Pankaj Sploia.
