| RD Deptt organises awareness programme for panchayat members | | | early times report
Jammu, Jan 22: Rural Development Department in block Bhalwal organised a day long interaction programme for the newly formed members of Adalati panel under Panchayati Raj Act to create awareness among them about their role on the justice delivery system at the micro level.
District and Sessions judge Jammu Jung Bahadur Singh Jamwal was the chief guest on the occasion while Mobile Magistrate Jammu Sarfaraz Ahmed was the guest of honour. The function was attended by lawyers, sarpanches, panches and members of Panchayati Adalats in block Bhalwal.
A mobile Lok Adalat which was first of its kind was also organised where in MACT cases were settled in presence of representatives of insurance companies by both the parties mutually . The inaugural mobile Lok Adalt was a step in reaching out to the people at their door steps in delivering justice In his inaugural address Block Development Officer Bhalwal Aijaz Qaiser welcomed the dignitaries and presented a detail account of activities undertaken for empowering PRI's in state.
The chief guest in his address lauded the role of panchayats and explained the purposes behind the adalati panel in conducting summary trials locally upholding the principles of natural justice system.
