| Rajendra inspects Bakshi Stadium, takes stock of RD arrangements | | | early times report JAMMU, Jan 22: In order to take stock of the arrangements made for Republic Day celebration in the valley, the Additional Director General of Police, Armed/Law & Order (ADGP), K. Rajendra Kumar, along with team of officers, inspected the Bakshi Stadium this evening. Rajendra also convened a meeting of police officers at the venue and took stock of the progress with regard to face lifting of Bakshi Stadium and other arrangements. It was told that necessary efforts have been made in coordination with the civil administration to make the Bakshi Stadium convenient for the function by clearing snow and levelling where ever required. The meeting also took stock of the other functions being held in the province, deployment of personnel and maintenance of law and order. The meeting was told that sufficient manpower has been earmarked for deployment of security at the venues and maintenance of law and order during the celebrations. In addition, armed contingents and other components of JKP would participate in the celebrations for which the exercise has already been started at Bakshi Stadium and district and tehsil headquarters. Police bandbust and traffic arrangements were thoroughly discussed to avoid inconvenience to the general public coming to watch the functions. During the meeting, the ADGP stressed upon the officers to coordinate with each other and keep available required man power for the celebrations without affecting the law and order duties. He said arrangements should be made to ensure peaceful celebrations. Stressing for better coordination with other agencies, he said close liaison should be maintained at every level and the officers supervising different components should be briefed accordingly.
