GBSF demands political reservation for Gujjars-Bakkerwals

JAMMU, Jan 22: Gujjar-Bakkerwal Students' Federation (GBSF) President Ch. Nasib has questioned the attitude of the present coalition government for giving cabinet rank to Pahari Advisory Board on one side while on the other ignored Gujjar-Bakkerwal Advisory Board. Addressing a press conference here today, Ch. Nasib Ali asked the present coalition government that there is special provision in the constitution of India regarding Tribal Community but the present state government is not taking care of these constitutional provisions. While praising the government for providing cabinet rank status to Pahari Advisory Board but also demanded same right to the Gujjar-Bakkerwal Advisory Board. He also demanded political reservation for the Gujjar-Bakerwal Community which comprises of good percentage of the state population. The Gujjar leader said that government says that it is doing everything for the welfare of the community and assures the economic and educational upliftment of the community in words only but there is nothing like this in policies and actions of the government.
