Kishtwar, Jan 23 : Newly inducted minister of state for Industries and Commerce (Independent charge), Home, R & B, Housing and Urban Development, Tourism and Culture Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo is arriving at Kishtwar tomorrow for the first time after he took over as the Minister of State in Omar Abdullah lead coalition government. Kichloo is scheduled to address a series of public rallies at Thatri, Drabshala and Kishtwar tomorrow. Security has been beefed up and elaborate arrangements have been made for the visit. Kichloo will address his first rally in his home constituency. His elevation as minister has raised hopes ranging from improved road connectivity to healthcare in the district.The people of Kishtwar are hopeful that young Minister will come up to the public expectation and will bring an end to corruption in the system, particularly in police department that tops in corruption and thus encourages lawlessness in Kishtwar District. The Kishtwar police has the `distinction' of posing a threat to peace. Not only the commoner, the judicial officers also fell threatened by them. Despite court directions, the police have shown reluctance to register FIRs against offenders. There are also report of hushing up several cases including seizure of gold biscuits, pieces of sapphires and also did not act against the children's of high profile families found involved in car lifting from various parts of the Kishtwar District. |
