Jammu, Jan 23: Under the instructions from Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Jammu, K LKhajuria the enforcement staff led by Chief Enforcement Officer sealed the premises at Sec No F-50, Sainik Colony here under the provisions of section 8 (1) of J&K Control of Building Operation Act, 1988.
"As the owner was continuing with the construction activity unauthorizedly and had not stopped the work there, the premises was sealed," a statement of the JMC said.
Besides this, while continuing and intensifying the anti encroachment drive to clear the footpaths/pavements, parts of road sides the team undertook a drive in the areas of Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar and seized goods/articles which were kept by the shopkeepers encroaching upon footpaths/pavements and road sides and causing inconvenience to the pedestrians and also creating obstruction in the free movements of vehicular traffic. The JMC again appealed the people to refrain from making encroachments and unauthorized constructions in violation of land use otherwise action as admissible under rule leading to demolition / sealing will be taken.
