Jammu, Jan 23: OBC board members have demanded enhancement in reservation for OBC's in Block Development Councils (BDCs) and Municipal bodies, here today.
As per press release, a meeting of state Advisory Board for the welfare and Development of other Backward Classes was convened by Vice Chairman Kuldeep Raj Verma.
In which all the members of the Board from Jammu province participated. They regretted that the main demand for reservation to OBC's is still under consideration and no decision has been taken by the Government .They demanded the enhancement of reservation from 2% to 9% in the first instance as 7% reservation can be given by the state Government at present ( 43% +7% ). Addressing the Board Members said that the demand of enhancement of reservation is under the consideration of Government. Romesh Kumar, Mansa Ram, Mohd Ayub Bhat, Santokh Singh Gujral, Jeet Singh Sangotra, Om Prakash Dalmatora, Rajinder Kr. Chanyal, Bua Ditta, Sain Dass and including other board members were present in the meeting. |
