| Police foils bovine smuggling bid, 6 animals rescued | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Jan 23: Police today foiled a bid to smuggle bovines at Lakhanpur near here and nabbed one of the persons who were transporting animals in a truck. According to police sources, acting on specific information a police party of P/S Lakhanpur laid down a naka near Patti Nallah on NHW and intercepted one Truck bearing registration No. JK02T-6571 driven by one Mohd Tariq son of Abdual Karim of Gool, Ramban . On seeing the Police Naka, the said driver managed to escape from the spot and his associate namely Abdul Hamid son of Bashir Ahmed of Rangoora Bye Pass, Jammu was arrested. During search of the truck, Police recovered 6 Bovine animals which were seized by the Naka Party. A manhunt has been launched to arrest the absconding driver. A Case FIR No. 13/2013 U/S 188 RPC 3 PCA Act stands registered at P/S Lakhanpur. |
