Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 25: The allegations of rape of a three-year old girl by his father in Ranbir Singh Pura have not been substantiated by the medical report. On Thursday, police arrested one Sunil Kumar of RS Pura, a labourer in Lakhanpur for allegedly raping his three-year old daughter. Police even took his seven days remand from Tehsildar RS Pura today and has started investigation in the case. The complaint against Kumar was filed by one Pushpa Devi, whose son fled with Kumar's wife few days back and is yet untraceable. Reacting to this move of Devi's son, Kumar had handed over his children to Devi for taking care. Since then he was drinking heavily and taking his daughter back for few hours. Yesterday as well, when Kumar returned the girl, Devi found her screaming inconsolably and after some consultation with locals, alleged that the girl has been raped by Kumar. She immediately registered the complaint with police and Kumar was arrested on allegations of rape of his daughter. Today, the girl was taken to Gandhinagar hospital where a team of doctors observed her and found no signs of rape on her. "We haven't found any symptoms of rape on girl's body and private parts. Now, a report will be prepared and will be given to police," said a doctor in the hospital. Sources told Early Times that Devi along her relatives are intentionally trying to build a case against Kumar so that he does not harm his son who has fled with Kumar's wife. "Not a single person of Kumar's family has come to see him in the police station due to his previous record," said a policeman of RS Pura police station. |
