| Paras' ton guides Kathua Blues to win in KPL | | | KATHUA, Feb 10: Kathua Blues and Jonty Cricket Club (JCC) Kathua won their respective matches in the ongoing Kathua Premier League Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Sports Stadium, here today. In the first match of the day, Kathua Blues outplayed Devil Cricket Club (DCC) by a margin of 54 runs. Batting first, Kathua Blues set a target of 207 runs for seven wickets, which, in reply, DCC could make 152 runs for five wickets. Paras hit a brilliant century making 104 runs off just 47 deliveries with the help of 17 boundaries and one six. Saqib contributed 47-ball 63 runs. From Devil Club, Sunil and Nadeem shared one wicket each. Later, Devil Club could not maintain the required run rate and completed their 20 overs for 152 runs for five wickets. Bharat and Sunil were top scorers with 37 and 31 runs respectively. Paras and Boon took two wickets each from Kathua Blues. For his all-round performance, Paras was obvious choice for the man of the match trophy. Meanwhile, in another match, Jonty Club defeated Patel Nagar Kathua by four wickets. Earlier, batting first, Patel Nagar lost all their wickets for 144 runs in 19.4 overs. Sonu and Lado made 33 and 31 runs respectively while Nanna took four wickets and Akshay bagged two from Jonty Club. In reply, Jonty Club chased the target making 146 runs in 19.4 overs losing six wickets. Lalit and Jatinder remained top scorers with 23 runs each. Lado took three wickets from Patel Club while Prince bagged two. Nanna was named man of the match.
