Jammu, Feb 10 : DIG Alok Kumar (IPS) is in trouble and is likely to face repatriation to his parent cadre if charges against him are proved. Alok is currently on deputation in Bihar. The government of Bihar has sought details against Alok from the Jammu Kashmir Police headquarters. Alok during his stint in Jammu Kashmir as Commandant 10 IRP Batallion was accused of forging a bill. He allegedly changed the amount from 93000 to 93 lakhs and forwarded it to the PHQ. An enquiry was imitated and two officials were placed under suspension. However, Alok managed his deputation to Bihar and escaped action for the time being. Interestingly, Alok was promoted and in his new avatar as DIG allegedly demanded bribe to the tune of Rs 10 Cr from one Tunnajhi Pandey. Tunnaji , instead of paying the bribe approached the DGP with a complaint against Alok. Panday also accused Alok of threatening him of dire consequences if he failed to pay an amount of Rs 10 Cr to him. This threat, Panday said, was issued on January 10. The DGP listened into the telephonic conversation of Alok and found enough evidence to corroborate Tunnaji's allegations. Accordingly the Economic Offences Wing was directed to proceed against theAlok. Alok is a 1997 IPS from Jammu Kashmir Cadre. |
