Threatening posters reappear on Kishtwar walls
Afzal Guru hanging
2/13/2013 12:14:07 AM

kishtwar, Feb 12: Fumed over lack of support from general public in response to shutdown call from Valley, militants issued threats through poster at several prominent locations in Kishtwar.
These posters believed to be pasted by the HM militant outfit with the help of separatist elements created panic among the security forces and general public. As soon as the police got the information about surfacing of posters on Afzal Guru hanging, they swung into action and removed all the posters from the walls outside schools and educational institutions. Police were however tight lipped over the investigation in this regard. The sources informed the "Early Times" that similar posters had appeared last year on the wall of Jamia Masjid Kishtwar.
In one of the posters, local Immam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar has been threatened for not endorsing the Hurriyat call for the shutdown and protests in wake of the aftermath of hanging of 2001 Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru on Saturday (9 February 2013) at Delhi.
The anonymous poster made a general appeal to the people of Kishtwar for observing complete shutdown including in Government offices from 12-16 February, beside urging the people to assemble in the premises of Jamia Masjid at 10 AM so that a protest could be held in support of bringing back the dead body of Afzal Guru. The anonymous poster also held Chief Minister Omar Abdullah responsible for signing the death warrant of Afzal Guru and told him to show his power once again to pave way for bringing back the body of Afzal Guru.
