| Sale outlets, J&K Bank Branches, medical shops to remain open | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Feb 12 : To take stock of the availability of foodgrains and other basic facilities in the valley, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon convened a meeting of divisional level officers besides Deputy Commissioners of the districts through video conference here today. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir directed the authorities to ensure availability of essentials by keeping the sale outlets of CA&PD open besides providing medicare facilities in health centres, adding that the medical shops shall be exempted from the restrictions. He also asked the J&K Bank authorities to ensure that the main branches at district and tehsil headquarters shall deliver their services to the people and necessary passes shall be issued to them for attending their routine duties. Deputy Commissioner Srinagar apprised Dr. Samoon that restrictions were relaxed in many parts of Srinagar city including Ram Munshi Bagh, Raj Bagh, TRC, parts of Jawahar Nagar today. Restrictions were also relaxed in many parts of Kupwara, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara informed the meeting. It was given out in the meeting that 9 trucks of LPG were dispatched to interior area of the city to be distributed through point delivery system. The meeting was informed that 1000 dressed birds, milk vans and vegetable trucks were also dispatched to city today. Deputy Commissioners of various districts informed that ration depots were kept open for distribution of ration and other essentials to the people. As many as 39000 litres of milk was also supplied to the consumers by Khyber and Snowcap Dairy units. Divisional Commissioner impressed upon the District Development Commissioners of various districts to hold meetings with the senior citizens of respective districts to maintain peace and tranquility. |
