| Doda migrants demands at par rehabilitation with KMs | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 12 : Erstwhile Doda Migrant Committee (EDMC), Jammu on Tuesday took out a procession in support of their demand including relief at par with the Kashmiri Migrants (KM).
Large number of Doda migrant assembled at Mubarak Mandi and raised slogans against state government. The procession started from the Mubarkh Mandi and after passing through Purani Mandi concluded at City Chowk and Sahlimar. Addressing the protesters, chairman of EDMC, Rakesh Sharma said that about 251 families who had been migrated since decades, not given any relief by the state or the Central government.
"Despite completion of verification of these families by Relief and Rehabilitation department they are not registered yet, depriving them of basic facilities" he alleged.
He said that on one hand state government had providing every facility to Kashmri migrants but on other hand the Doda Migrants are deprived of even basic amenities. He criticized state government for not conceding their long pending demand.
He urged upon the chief minister to register these 251 families as migrants so that they could be saved besides justice at par with Kashmiri Migrants. |
