JAMMU, Feb 12: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) has hailed the recommendation of Minister for Medical Education for enhancing the retirement age of faculty members of Government Medical College, Associated Hospitals and Dental Colleges. In a meeting held here today under the Chairmanship of JKMEF President Sushil Sudan, the members hailed the recommendation, however, they reminded the Minister that Para Medical Staff, Staff Nurses, Class-IV officials and Safaiwalas also attend duties with Specialists in wards and Operation Theatres and as such their retirement age also needs to be enhanced as well. Those who spoke on the occasion included Vinod Kumar, Secretary General, C.L. Koul, President Ministerial Staff Association, Anil Kesar, Kamaljeet Sawhney, Jarnail Chowdhary, R.P. Sigh, Din, Rakesh Hangloo, Mohd Saleem, Jugal Bakshi, Verinder Gupta, and others.
