JAMMU, Feb 12: The three-day 40th Inter-collegiate Athletics Meet of University of Jammu (JU), organised by Department of Sports and Physical Education, shall start tomorrow on the campus tracks, here. On the opening day finals in five events of 10,000 meters, Shot Put, Long Jump and Javelin Throw have been scheduled by the organising committee. There will also be heats (preliminary round) for two other track events of 100 meters and 400 meters races in both men and women's sections. The technical penal, constituted to conduct the entire event under the guidance of officials of the Department of Sports, is comprised of at least six qualified Physical Education Teachers (PETs) from the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS).
The meet shall be declared open by Vice Chancellor, Prof MPS Ishar at 10.30 am. Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu, Dilbag Singh shall be the guest of honour in the inaugural function.
