Palma people protest against delay in 'road project'

Rajouri, Feb 12: Locals in Palma locality of border district Rajouri today staged protest outside the Office of Deputy Commissioner over the delay in road construction project barely 5km in length. The deputation led by one Rakesh Kumar alleged that owing to Govt negligence the 5 km road stretch between Palma to Darshala in up country location of Rajouri remained in a midway for the last 10 years. Local alleged that people of this area are facing hardships in the area and added due to delay in completion of the project even the school going children and ailing people forced to walk miles to reach their destination. They added, "The situation becomes deplorable during the rains and snowfall. Rakesh Kumar demanding that concerned officials to construct the said road within the time limit, otherwise they will choose the path of agitation against the administration. Later, deputation also submitted the memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sougat Biswas who assured to see the matter.
