Jammu, Feb 14: Bahu Fort Development Committee (BFDC) flayed the Coalition Government for allegedly encouraging land mafia in the area of Raika, Bahu-Fort, Bathandi, Sunjwan, Chatta, Bermini and Rati-Saradi.
Addressing press conference here on Thursday, Ishant Gupta spokesperson BFDC, alleged that one Mohd Rashid Malik alias Sheeda (PDP worker) is threatening the local poor Gujjar and also forcibly grabbed some kanal of land. "Said person, who is deliberately grabbing land, is further selling the same, with the connivance of local police, forest department and administration" he alleged. Ishant Gupta said that few days back they apprised and have given due representation of one victim namely Din Mohd and his family a resident of village Raika to Divisional Commissioner and IGP Jammu, but all in vain.
He said the land grabber has encroached hundreds kanal of forest and JDA land with the connivance of officials, and also grabbed chunk of JDA land near police post Bathindi. He further alleged that the said person is grabbing land with political support.
Gupta demanded action against him under law, withdraw of his security, enquiry of his huge wealth, and immediate constitution of special police cell to curve land grabbers so that law of the land must be honored and poor people can take sigh of relief in the area. |
