ANANTNAG, Feb 14: Due to curfew that has been clamped after the execution of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, Valley people mostly in the southern districts are forced to continue business during night hours as the Government failed to dominate the miscreants who resort to stone pelting only in the evening hours.
Common masses are fed up with the strictness and curfew that continued on 6th day without any deal or relaxation here in South Kashmir, by which people are facing acute shortage of essentials especially vegetables and particularly life saving drugs. Civil society members consisting senior advocates, political activists, traders who met yesterday senior Cabinet Ministers Peerzada Mohd Syed and Gulam Ahmad Mir, also requested for few hours deal, however district administration didn't take the risk because of the possible outbreak of violence in the town, as the whole Anantnag town has been dominated by few stone pelters instead of 3 CRPF battalions and hundreds of Jammu Kashmir Policemen.
District's top business houses are now doing their business during night hours as the rest of the areas including, Achabal, Dooru, Verinag, Pahalgam, Mattan, Srigufwara, Sallar, Kokernag and other rural areas continue to live normal life and business houses are getting demands from these rural areas those are being fulfilled during night hours.
"We are getting requests from rural areas to provide us supply as I am doing my business with hardware and most rural people have started building or doing additional constructions that is the reason I am here to provide supply to my customer during the night." Shopkeeper, wishing not to be named said adding that administrations should at least give deal as the people are facing problems.
Mostly town shopkeepers open the shutters of their shops after 9 pm as they feel secure because of the absence of security forces and stone pelters. "The authorities should have relaxed the curfew at least for few hours so that people could buy essentials," he said.
Meanwhile, few stone pelting incidents occurred during the evening hours at Kadipora and Malaknag, however, situation by and large remained under control in Anantnag and Kulgam districts on 6th day of curfew that has mostly effected tourism and education in the Valley which witnessed heavy rush of tourists during the previous year.
