Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 14: Cinema Halls and Multiplexes in the winter capital of the State attracting youngsters from Kashmir due to non availability of any Cinema hall in the Valley. The youth of Kashmir, who comes to Jammu in the winters on holidays or for their job, are getting attracted by the Multiplexes and Cinema halls in the City. "I always enjoy lots of Movies in the Multiplex, whenever I visit here, usually in winters I came to Jammu with my family as my father is workin in Secretariat," said Jhonayed Etu, 19 from Shopian, Kashmir, at present living in Vikas Nagar, Jammu. "It's awesome to see your favorite film star on the big screen," he added with smile on his face. Another Kashmiri boy, Raja Arslan, 20 of Srinagar said, "in Srinagar, we can only see the movie in our TV but it is wonderful to see a movie in a multiplex. Most of the Kashmiri youth wants Multiplexes to be opened in the Valley, so that they can enjoy the Big screen in the own city. According to the Multiplex staff the Kashmiris often comes to the Cinema Halls and enjoy the movie on the big screen. "Every year from December to February, we get a very god response from the Kashmiris, especially from the business class who comes in Winters for holidays," said Rajinder Singh, manager Indra Multiplex. "But the response always depends upon the Movie, a good movie always attract more public," he added. There are two Multiplexes in the City till now and some more are about to be opened soon. KC multiplex, B.C. Road have two Audi's as Indra Multiplex, KC Central have three with the sitting capacity of 130 to 161 seats each. There are some Cinema Halls in the City which are about to switch themselves in the shape of Multiplex. As the youth from Kashmir is very fond of Cinema and Multiplex, there are some people who are not in the habit of watching movies as it is not the part of their culture. "Every year I came to Jammu for 3-4 months but I don't like watching movies in Cinema Halls, as it is not a part of our culture," said Omar Shah, 19 from Srinagar, at present living in Channi Himmat, Jammu. "Infact my religion do not allow me to go for movies," he added. |
